Policy Forum
Shaping evidence-based policies for sustainable forestry and agriculture across Europe
The ForestAgriGreenNudge Policy Forum brings together policymakers, policy shapers, researchers, foresters and farmers to co-create practical, science-based solutions that support the transition towards more sustainable land use systems. Through policy workshops and stakeholder dialogue, the Forum fosters exchange, alignment and actionable recommendations at European and national levels.
About the Policy Forum
The ForestAgriGreenNudge Policy Forum is a dedicated platform within the project designed to bridge research and policymaking. It supports structured dialogue between decision-makers and practitioners to ensure that project results are translated into relevant, realistic and impactful policy recommendations.
The Forum evaluates existing policy examples of socio-economic incentives and behavioural nudges and explores how these can be adapted and applied to real-life farming and forestry decision-making contexts. By analysing practical experiences and policy instruments, the EPF helps identify what works, under which conditions, and why.
Building on this evidence, the Forum provides policymakers with innovative and effective nudging solutions that support the achievement of sustainability objectives in agriculture and forestry. It also contributes to the design of coherent and impactful policy instruments aligned with European priorities.
The EPF supports the development of policies contributing to the ambitious targets of the European Green Deal, in particular:
- The EU Bioeconomy Strategy
- The Farm to Fork Strategy
- The EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030
- The Communication on Sustainable Carbon Cycles
- The Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP)
- The objectives of the 2023–2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)
Through evidence-based dialogue and stakeholder engagement, the Policy Forum ensures that project results translate into actionable policy recommendations at European, national and regional levels.
ForestAgriGreenNudge Network
The ForestAgriGreenNudge Policy Network brings together policymakers, policy advisors, public authorities, foresters, farmers and other relevant stakeholders across Europe who are interested in promoting sustainable land use through behavioural approaches and green nudges.
The Network serves as:
- A platform for knowledge exchange
- A space for sharing best practices
- A channel for early access to project findings
- A community supporting policy innovation
Members of the Network are invited to participate in workshops, receive policy updates and contribute to shaping project recommendations.
Who can join?
Representatives from:
- Policy makers: European, national and regional public authorities, ministries and policy departments
- AKIS Coordination Bodies / AKIS representatives: Environmental agencies, NGOs and advisory bodies
- Farmers and agricultural associations
- Foresters and forestry associations
- Research and innovation organisations
Policy Workshops
As part of the ForestAgriGreenNudge Policy Forum, a structured series of four Policy Workshops will be organised to progressively explore, assess and refine behavioural approaches for sustainable agriculture and forestry.
The workshops are designed as a cumulative process, moving from conceptual understanding and evidence-sharing to the development of practical tools and policy recommendations. The outcomes will directly contribute to project deliverables, including D5.4 – Policy Recommendations.
Three workshops will be held online to maximise participation across Europe, followed by a final in-person workshop dedicated to consolidating tools and recommendations.
